On Mar. 9 the WHS girls golf team attended their first game of the season, the Hanford invite, at the Horn Rapids Golf Course in Richland. 12 schools competed, including Eastmont, Ephrata and Mt. Spokane. The team, coached by Doug Merrill, was happy with their showing; senior Taylor Takasugi shot an 84, senior Ashley Turner shot a 101 and senior Julia Neff shot a 114.

“Overall we had a really good day and really good weather conditions,” said Takasugi, excited to have a solid first meet.

The WHS girls golf team will compete again on Mar. 16 at the Wenatchee Valley Girls Golf Championships hosted by Eastmont High School and the Highlander Invitational hosted here in Wenatchee.
