The Wenatchee High School bowling team took on Eastmont in East Wenatchee on Nov. 19, the Panthers first league match of the season, and came away with a disappointing loss of 3-1.
High scorers for WHS were junior Jaylah Young, with a score of 193, and junior Brianna Saylor, 181.
“[It] was a little rough, we ended up losing,” Young said. “We just kind of struggled, the lanes were really dry.”
Two varsity bowlers played injured, Young with a minor forearm muscle injury, and junior Courtney Archer with a knee injury. Archer had to be switched out mid-game.
On Nov. 13, the team played in the 12-team Moses Lake tournament, coming away with first place and a trophy. High scorers were sophomore Delaney Yant, 180, and junior Courtney Archer, 176.
“We have to work on our spare game, that’ll help us a lot,” said WHS Coach Jay Young. “We have a very solid group, the team itself knows what it has to do.”
The team travels next to play West Valley in Yakima today.
