Girls basketball had a roller coaster week, triumphing over Eastmont on Friday, 53-43, but falling to West Valley by a narrow margin on Saturday, 58-54.
The boys basketball team narrowly lost to Eastmont, 53-50. The Panthers didn’t fare much better against West Valley and lost 49-33.
Juniors Alli Halberg, Claire Sirmon, and sophomore Skyler Walton led in scoring against Eastmont, securing a victory for the Panthers, head coach Patrick Loftus said.
Hallberg led the team with 29 points against West Valley.
Senior Tony Esquivel led the Panthers in the Eastmont game with 24 points. The Panthers struggled to get the ball through the net against West Valley, and were led by senior Luke Worley with nine points.
Looking back on the week’s performance, Loftus said. “We need to get after it, we need to get ourselves into a position to [move ahead].”
