Wenatchee High School’s Golden Apple Band won three awards at the Yakima Harvest Marching Band Annual Festival on Oct. 17.

Competing with 14 other schools ranging in size and talent, the GA band was able to beat their opponents and win the title of High Percussion, Best Color Guard, and Best Marching.

The competition was split in three different events, with the preliminary rounds taking place in the afternoon, which was what qualified the band’s forward. Once evening rolled around the band was asked to perform for the finals, finishing the night with a retreat where the awards were received.

“We have to give credit where credit is due, the coaches did great jobs, section leaders are doing great jobs, It’s hard for me to keep track of who is really helping, but what I can say, as a whole, the band shines,” student teacher Domingo Gonzales said.
