Local business supports grieving family
December 8, 2016
The inner pain of losing a close loved one is terrible, but in addition to the emotional grief experienced, many families have to pay additional medical and funeral costs, which can be a massive financial burden. After a local accident, multiple fundraisers have been set up to help offset the various costs related to the death of 15 year-old Eastmont High School student, Alejandro (Alex) Pulido. He is the son of Fidelina Pulido, a secretary at Wenatchee High School.
All fundraisers are sponsored by Aut-To Mocha.
Pulido was struck by a vehicle on Nov. 29 as he and a friend crossed Highway 28, just outside East Wenatchee. He was immediately taken to Central Washington Hospital and died that evening.
The Pulido family has created a GoFundMe account for people to donate money online. As of Dec. 7, the campaign had raised more than $10,000 in only seven days.
Additionally, there will be a yard and bake sale and gift wrapping fundraiser on Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at WestSide High School. Donations of baked or yard sale items and gift wrapping supplies may be dropped off at WestSide High School for the event. The fundraisers will go to offsetting the medical and funeral costs.
A savings account has also been set up at Numerica Credit Union. Monetary donations can be either mailed to the East Wenatchee Numerica location or brought in person to either the Wenatchee or East Wenatchee locations. Contributors are asked to reference the account “Savings: Alex Account #750522” when making a deposit.
