The Apple Leaf Editor-in-Chief Moses Lurbur received an Excellent rating with his entry in the Editorial Writing Write-Off competition at the Fall National High School Journalism Convention in Indianapolis this weekend. Also,  former Graphic Designer Jamie Grossarth claimed fifth place in the Editorial Cartoon of Year competition for her work in 2015-2016.

An excellent rating is the second-highest honor awarded for Write-Off competitions. Lurbur also took an Honorable Mention in Newswriting at last year’s national conference in Los Angeles.

Grossarth’s individual honor is the third an Apple Leaf staffer has won in the last four years.
