Panther athletes sign on for collegiate play

For some avid fans, National Signing Day is a holiday where athletes from all across the country choose which school they will attend for the next four years and play their respected sport. Yesterday was National Signing Day and 10 Wenatchee High School student athletes signed their letters of intent to play collegiate sports.

Offensive lineman Trey Adams committed to the University of Washington to continue his football career.

“It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to play football at U-Dub ever since I could remember,” Adams said.

Cross country and track star Cole Cristman and baseball player Jacob Prater are also Pac-12-bound and will be attending Washington State University.

“Hard work really pays off,” Prater said. “Baseball has done so much for me. I’m so thankful for all my family, friends, coaches, and especially my teammates for all that they’ve done to help me get where I am today. I’m just excited to be a Coug.”

Panthers running back and cornerback Chase Resch will attend Central Washington University next year.

“I’m just so happy that I get to play more football and that Central is giving me this great opportunity,” Resch said.

Wenatchee track runner Lindsey Wapato is also bound for Central Washington University.

Ali Sealby and Amira Chandler will be playing basketball next year for  Eastern Washington University.

Ashton Blanksma signed last night to play her next four years of soccer at Portland State University.

Wenatchee Panthers star linebacker Cy Sirmon will be taking his talents to the University of Montana, where he hopes to compete for the linebacker slot as a freshmen.

Soccer player Baylee Fontaine will stay local and attend Wenatchee Valley College. Wrestler Cody Schuyleman and soccer player Katie Michkiosky were invited to signing night, and plan to sign with their colleges soon.
