Ramon Rivera, Wenatchee High School’s Mariachi instructor, has recently been selected as a CMA (Country Music Awards) Music Teacher of Excellence.

Rivera now has the opportunity to attend a reception in Nashville, TN honoring music teachers from across the nation. The event will be hosted by Little Big Town. Additionally, Rivera will receive a donation of $5,000 from the Country Music Awards and the Give A Note Foundation.

Rivera is receiving this honor thanks to a recommendation from the Give a Note Foundation, sponsor of the Radio Disney Music in our Schools Tour contest Mariachi Huenachi recently won.

“The Radio Disney award has opened doors to other things,” said Rivera. “I never dreamed of going to Nashville to represent the school and the program. It’s huge.”
