The Apple Leaf


The Apple Leaf online aims to interact and engage with digital users, and promote events and information of Wenatchee High School to create an online following that is positive and informative.

Mission StatementThe Apple Leaf is published by the Advanced Journalism class with sanction by the Associated Student Body of Wenatchee High School. Advanced Journalism is offered by the English Department. The Apple Leaf is a forum of student expression by the students of Wenatchee High School, affording them a chance to air facts and opinions relative to all issues of concern to them.

Memberships: Currently, The Apple Leaf  is associated with the National Scholastic Press Association, Journalism Educators Association, and the Washington Journalism Educators Association.

Awards: Most recently, The Apple Leaf was awarded third place in the Best of Show competition at the NSPA/JEA National Convention in San Diego, Calif. In March 2014, The Apple Leaf placed first in Best of Show at the Washington Journalism Education Association State conference. In the fall of 2013, The Apple Leaf won a Pacemaker award at the NSPA/JEA National Convention in Boston, Mass. and ninth place in the Best of Show competition.

Circulation: The Apple Leaf publishes 10 issues between September and June.
