Bond rally draws large crowd at Pybus

School board members Robert Sealby, Jennifer Talbot, Jesus Hernandez and Laura Jaecks talk about the importance of renovating schools.

The Wenatchee School District held a rally in support of the 2014 bond measure on Jan. 11 at Pybus Market. The bond will raise taxes for reconstruction and expansion at Washington and Lincoln elementary schools, and Pioneer Middle School’s gym. The rally featured performances from the Wenatchee High School Golden Apple Band, WHS Mariachi, Pioneer Jazz Ensemble, and L-Bow the Clown. The WHS Interact Club painted faces, and there was an informational booth where people could register to vote. The school board wanted to raise awareness of the bond in an effort to pass it.
