The girls and boys cross country teams each placed third at Districts last Thursday at Franklin Park in Yakima. The girls had 81 points, while the boys had 70 points.

Sophomore Claire Sirmon fought off the competition and secured a State spot while placing fifth with a time of 19 minutes 45.71 seconds in the three-mile race, and senior Miguel Viramontes placed sixth with a personal best in the three-mile boys race of 16:33.01 and also qualified for State.

Although they were the only two athletes to qualify for State, Ethan Knutson and Aria Tornabene are alternates for the meet, which will be held at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on this Saturday.
