Skyview win means next round of State playoffs for Panther football
Players huddled around heaters on the sidelines, and fans watched with jealousy as they froze while witnessing the Panthers pull off an outstanding 41-27 win over the Skyview Storm Nov. 14.
A large part of the Panthers success was the offensive performance of senior Chase Resch. Resch ran for 231 yards on the ground and a pair of touchdowns. Resch also caught two passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Junior quarterback Brandon Graves put together another big night for the box scores ending with four touchdowns and 208 yards through the air. Graves connected with senior tight end Markus Stoll for a pair of touchdowns and also found junior receiver Christian Brandt-Sims down the middle of the field for a score.
“It feels great to get this win but on Monday we need to get right back to work. We can’t get too caught up in the moment, but I’d be lying if I said this didn’t feel great,” Graves said after Friday night’s win.
The Panthers now advance to the next round of the 4A State playoffs and will be on the road next week facing off against the Graham Kapowsin Eagles. Officials with the WIAA office said this morning the game’s location is to be determined. Tune into Z-Country 94.7 to hear the game live. Game time is 7 p.m.
