The top five T.V. shows to watch during quarantine

Jennifer Rodas, Reporter

Quarantine has given a 180-degree turn on the world. It also kept most of us stuck at home and not able to go out. It was so boring because there was nothing to do, and instead of being productive I was at home and on my phone 24/7. After a while, I got tired of being on my phone all day, so I found a new thing to do- binge-watch Netflix T.V. shows. I got addicted fast, and once quarantine was partially lifted, I realized I had gone through most of the shows on Netflix. So, I made a list. The top five shows that are to die for and that you’ll love.

Grey’s Anatomy was the first show I started watching. It’s based on a hospital, and the characters are all doctors. Although, there’s more drama in between the doctors than actual medical procedures going on. Grey’s Anatomy had been on my list far before COVID started, but since I tend to procrastinate on literally everything, I kept putting it off. During quarantine, I finally got the opportunity, so I started watching it. At first it was kind of boring, but later on the show started to spice up with drama. The fact that it’s 16 seasons long doesn’t really help, but the four months that I spent watching it were the best spent four months of my life, so I totally recommend it.

If you’re into mystery and solving criminal investigations, then Riverdale is just what you’re looking for. Teenage romance and mystery-solving take up practically the whole show, centering around the lives of five teenagers. Almost every single episode on Riverdale kept me on my toes because you can never anticipate what’s going to happen next. That’s how good it is. Watching Riverdale was a little out of my comfort zone because being the Sci-Fi nerd that I am, I’m not really attracted to teenage criminal shows, but believe me, you will not regret watching it.

This next one is personally my favorite since I’ve rewatched it about four times- The Vampire Diaries. I’ve been addicted to this show since the first time I watched it, and I’m still not tired of it. If the title doesn’t give it away the show is about vampires and other supernatural creatures like werewolves and witches. There are more creatures though, but I wouldn’t want to give it all away. If you want to know you’ll have to go watch it yourself, although if you’re into drama and romance you should go watch it right now.

Addressing teen issues such as sexuality, race, mental illness, suicide and addiction is what Degrassi: The next class is  centralized around. I’ve watched this show about three times because I can relate to the teen drama, but at the same time, I’ve learned a lot of things from the show as well. There were things I didn’t know that teenagers have to go through in high school but also at home. Although the show might seem serious I’ve had a few laughs watching it, and counting the fact that I’ve watched it three times, means that the show must be really good.

Imagine living in a world without parents and only your classmates, well that’s what The Society is all about. Teenagers are learning how to live with the challenges of creating all their own rules, but also adapting to the flawed society they’ve built. It’s a fun and mysterious show to watch, I binge-watched it all in one day considering it’s only a season long. The show is addicting in a way once you start watching it you can’t stop, so if you’re looking for something entertaining to binge-watch I would recommend The Society.

Watching these shows will totally be worth your time. I was hesitant to watch them,  but once I started watching I couldn’t stop.
