Wenatchee finishes regular season as champions
The crisp white uniforms and matte black helmets were covered in mud after Wenatchee’s 41-7 win Friday over the West Valley Rams. The Panthers were led by senior Chase Resch, who had another outstanding game to cap off the regular season.
Resch ran all over the Rams defense, racking up 138 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.
The Panther defense played a huge role in the game by holding the Rams to a scarce blank yards of total offense. Junior defensive back Tj Harris had himself a night to remember by picking off West Valley’s quarterback twice.
Junior quarterback Brandon Graves found a way to move the ball through the air against the Rams. Graves completed 19 for 33 with 249 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore receiver Tony Esquivel was on the receiving end of a 44-yard touchdown pass. Resch also caught caught a pair of touchdown passes from Graves.
With the Panthers winning the Big Nine league title, they have earned themselves a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Wenatchee will host the winner of the Skyview vs. Skyline game on either Nov. 14 or 15.
