WHS clubs make a difference

With so many options of how to help out around the community, Make a Difference Day can be an overwhelming occasion. On Oct. 22, school clubs are organizing opportunities to help the community.

This year, Wenatchee Key Club will be doing their annual clean up at Camp Zanika Lache, near Lake Wenatchee.

The Wenatchee High School Honor Society is suggesting several different activities.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albertson’s parking lot, the Wenatchee Valley Coats for Kids coat drive will be taking place.

Additionally, there will be a blanket and eyeglass collection run by the Riverview Kiwanis, which will also be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Several activities will be taking place at Pybus Public Market from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. There will be a Homeless Education Program, which the Honor Society will be participating in, according to adviser Mary Symonds.

Symonds pointed out that anyone can make a difference, even in a small way, making sure to include a Charles Dickens quote:

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of another. As one person you can make a difference for someone.”
