Adjusted schedule this week to accommodate Parent-Teacher Conferences

2014 parent-teacher conference schedule

Parent-Teacher Conferences begin tomorrow at Wenatchee High School and the anticipation for a week of early release is tangible throughout the hallways.

“I’m excited for half days,” junior Joe Goodman said. “Less school!”

Starting on Monday, Oct. 13, and continuing throughout the school week, WHS will start school daily at 8:15 a.m. Classes will end at 11:45 a.m., except on Friday, when they will end at 11:40 a.m. Lunch will be served daily after classes until noon. Class schedules are slightly different than normal to accommodate the shortened school day. On Monday and Wednesday, students will attend periods 1, 2, and 3. Periods 4, 5, and 6 will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, and all classes will be held Friday.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are one tool the school uses to get parents and guardians more involved in their student’s learning. “It’s a great opportunity for parents to get a good sense on how their son or daughter is doing in an individual class,” Principal Bob Celebrezze said.

On Monday and Tuesday, Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday’s conferences will be held earlier, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., giving parents the option to decide when they would like to go. All parents and guardians are encouraged to attend conferences and take a hand in their student’s learning, Celebrezze said
