Debate team dominates Chiawana tournament
The Wenatchee High School debate team outperformed their opponents at a district competition on Saturday, taking home 11 of 20 first place trophies.
The tournament was held at Chiawana High School, with 11 other schools participating.
The Panthers won the top overall team, as well as the top team for individual speeches.
“The senior and upperclassmen team members really played a key role in the competition,” Debate Adviser Dave Carlson said. “There wasn’t necessarily one person who stood out, but everyone did their part, and it really showed. It’s fun to watch the strong team that they are becoming.”
