FBLA crushes competition at State Conference
Members of the Wenatchee High School FBLA received multiple awards at the State Leadership Conference April 20-23 in Spokane.
Junior Vivian Noyd and senior Israel Sixto-Sanchez placed fifth in E Business and third in Marketing. Sixto-Sanchez also placed second in Local Chapter Report. Senior Matt Kirkpatrick placed fourth in Intro to Computer Game Design. Those who placed in the top four will be heading to nationals in Atlanta in June.
This year’s performance stood out compared to previous years, according to FBLA adviser Susan Sears. Sears also noted that this was the first year that they had competed in Intro to Computer Game Design, and with help from Business instructor Scott Feil, they will be competing at nationals in the category.
“I have great confidence that we will have national winners this year,” Sears said. “Everyone has worked really hard.”
Jesus Laurel, Manuel Laurel, Austin Lozano, Grace Black, Jazmin Medrano, and Will Kamins also competed at the state conference.
