May 30, 2015

On Friday, Wenatchee High School students were recognized for their hard work and achievements in the annual Heart of the Panther awards assembly.

The Heart of the Panther award, dubbed the “highest honor WHS can bestow upon its members,” was split into five categories, with senior Francesca Nevil receiving the Heart of the Panther for attitude, senior Whitni Robinson receiving the award for extra effort, senior Bryce Newberry receiving the award for involvement, Deanna Bollinger of Nancy’s Party Rentals for community support, and social studies teacher Jay Young receiving the award for the category super staff. Young will retire this year after more than 40 years of teaching at WHS.
