Janice Franz Talent Show on the way
The Janice Franz Talent Show is fast approaching, with many details still in the works.
Students can audition with their talents such as singing or dancing acts to help support good causes, such as the family of Ava Ventura who died of cancer. Ventura’s family received the money raised by last year’s Talent Show to benefit Ventura’s 2-year-old daughter. The dates for auditions are set for Jan. 19-21 in the Wenatchee High School Music department after school. The average donations after all three nights of the Talent Show is usually about $12,000.
Beneficiary forms to nominate people to benefit from the event are due Jan. 15.
ASB Activities Coordinator, senior Claire Goveia, said, ”We haven’t actually chosen who the proceeds will go to just yet, but three or four really deserving people have been brought to our attention, so it’ll go to someone great.”
The three-show event is planned for Thursday, Feb. 18 through Saturday, Feb. 20, where one special individual or family will receive all proceeds from the event. The event will be held at 7 p.m. in the WHS auditorium.
ASB currently doesn’t have a specific goal for the event, but would like to exceed amounts raised in past years.
“It’d be incredible to raise even more than the typical amount,” Goveia said. “The proceeds always go to such deserving members of our community.”
