Meat sales will support FFA uniforms
Wenatchee High School Future Farmers of America’s October fundraiser will raise money for members’ official competition dress. Like last year, they are selling meat packages to raise these funds.
Last year, eight boxes of meat were sold which allowed 17 FFA jackets to be purchased. According to FFA adviser Beth Hammerberg, they hope to sell 20 boxes this year.
“It is a good equalizer for members that may not be able to pay for their uniforms,” said Hammerberg, “and when we go to competition we look nice.”
There are two possible meat packs to choose from. There is a beef/pork pack combination that contains 34 pounds of various meats, and there is a pork pack that is a 32-pound box full of different pork styles. Each pack costs $175, and must be paid to Wenatchee FFA by Nov. 1.
Orders can be placed with an FFA member or by emailing Hammerberg.
Once ordered, meat packages will arrive frozen and be available for pick up Friday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m.
