Mock Trial teams trample Tri-City tournament
The Wenatchee High School Mock Trial Purple Team took first place at the Tri-Cities District Tournament on Feb. 27 in Kennewick at the Benton County Courthouse. The Gold Team took second.
“We were honestly really surprised,” senior Cami George said. “We were expecting a lot harder competition.”
Both the Purple and Gold teams competed in three trials. At each trial, three jurors decide which team won the case by casting a ballot. Both Purple and Gold teams received eight of the nine available ballots. The third-place team took four.
The Purple team was composed of senior Christian Brandt-Sims, senior Cami George, junior Vivian Noyd, senior Ali Brandt, senior Lili Italiane, senior Ethan Knutson, senior Isabella Dahl, sophomore Maks Ballard, junior Alex Sinay-Smith, senior Julia Jobe
Both Purple and Gold teams will compete at the Mock Trial State Tournament on March 18 – 20 in Olympia.
