Robotics Club consists of two teams and is run by WHS biology teacher Cesar Mendoza. The winning team’s project was a robot meant to shoot into a designated goal. The team captain, Carlos Cruz, said that what the judges liked about their project wasn’t necessarily the design, but the work put into it.

“What really won was the physics that we put into it because one of our team members did all the math with it and it got the judge’s attention,” Cruz said.

Cruz said he was extremely proud of his team and “felt accomplished that we didn’t go there for nothing.”
