School bond rally to kickoff at Pybus
Citizens For Wenatchee Schools and the Wenatchee School District will be throwing a Bond Info Rally on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Pybus Market. The rally will include performances by the Wenatchee High School Golden Apple Marching Band, WHS Mariachi, and the WHS Interact Club will do face painting.
The purpose of the event is to inform the public about the facts of the bond and bring it to the public’s attention. The bond’s goal is to improve the facilities in the Wenatchee School District; giving kids a “safer environment,” according to a letter wrote by Kara Zupke, a Committee Member of the Citizens For Wenatchee Schools, to businesses around Wenatchee asking for donations for the rally.
“[The bond] hasn’t faced any major opposition so far,” said John McQuaig, Chairman for Citizens For Wenatchee Schools. “We’re looking to spread awareness of the bond and what it entails.”
The bond requires a 60 percent majority vote during the election on Feb. 11.
