The search for a new athletic director has begun as the position is now available to internal and external applicants until March 27, Wenatchee School District Superintendent Brian Flones said.

Current Athletic Director BJ Kuntz will transfer to the Dean of Students position beginning in August. Her salary will stay the same, Flones said. The athletic director’s salary ranges from $94,577 to $108,657 according to the job posting on Wenatchee School District’s website.

WSD has also established an interview committee for the position, Director of Human Resources Lisa Turner confirmed. The committee consists of nine members, including WHS Booster Club members. Principal Bob Celebrezze will lead the committee.

So far, Turner said there has been quite a bit of interest in the position. She is in the process of notifying other school districts of the opening as part of the WSD recruitment process.
