Seniors go head-to-head in Apple Blossom Royalty race

Twenty-four young women in the Wenatchee Valley began the process of running for the Wenatchee Valley’s Apple Blossom Royalty program on Dec. 2.
These preliminary candidates are seniors in high school that come from the three local high schools in the Wenatchee area: Wenatchee High School, Eastmont High School, and The River Academy.
The 15 candidates from Wenatchee High School are: Rosa Espinosa, Claire Johnston, Gabriela Rodriguez, Amy Sand, Zayra Cavillo, Paige Chvilicek, Melaina Cook, Mckenna Norland, Judith Torres, Jalen DeShazer, Emily Prieto, Kacey Lee, Alissa Riker, Adelina Cabrera, and Lanae Rodriguez.
On Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. a reception will take place at the Performing Arts Center, honoring the candidates.
The next day, Jan.11, the competitors will perform speeches in front of a panel of judges, along with an audience of their family and peers. The Wenatchee School District candidates (including the entries from The River Academy) will speak in the Wenatchee High School auditorium at 10 a.m. The eight candidates in the Eastmont School District will give their speeches at 7:45 a.m. in the Eastmont High School gymnasium.
At 6 p.m. on Jan. 11 the top 10 candidates will be announced at the Performing Arts Center in Wenatchee.

Why not name all the candidates and include Westside High School in the process?
