Spring Formal Dance brings positive experience to students

March 30, 2016

If the world could be powered by smiles, there would be no shortage of energy after today’s 12th annual Special Education Spring Formal Dance.

Students from Leavenworth, Chelan, Cashmere, Okanogen, Quincy, Entiant, Liberty Bell, Royal City, Ephrata, Wenatchee, Omak, and Eastmont high schools and Eastmont Junior High participated in the dance.

“It was really fun. It feels good to put on something like [the dance] for students who aren’t involved with the school as much,” Eastmont Junior High freshman Landon McClune said. “It’s good to see how happy they are… They could be themselves in a safe environment and not be bullied or judged and that’s great.”

Special education students were escorted to the dance by the Wenatchee High School Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) club and peer tutors.

Attendees got their hair styled by the Academy of Hair Design, then had their pictures taken by Parson’s Photography. They were also given the opportunity to take a limo ride around town by Hats Off Limo service.
