Amanda Bixby, Opinion Editor
Amanda Bixby is the (very opinionated) Opinion Editor of The Apple Leaf. She was on staff last year as a reporter and found joy in writing opinion pieces that made people laugh and brightened their day. She fell in love with the idea of a section where students are free to speak their minds, no matter how obscure or silly their ideas may be.
When she’s not ranting to random passersby the importance of correct punctuation and avoidance of Comic Sans font, she is playing outside with her dogs or eating sushi with her best friends. The Apple Leaf will be her only class at the high school this year, as she is enrolled in four classes at Wenatchee Valley College, making her a full time Running Start student. She is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society at WVC and plans to be more involved in college and high school clubs this year. Her senior year will consist of editing papers and working as a part time ice cream girl.
After graduating from WHS, Amanda plans to major in journalism at Western Washington University. From there she will pursue her journalism career by either doing investigative work for a newspaper or writing as a columnist for an online forum or magazine.
