State-winning bowling team recognized in assembly

February 8, 2016

Students roared in support of the Wenatchee High School state champion bowling team today in the main gym.

“They are an incredibly hard-working team,” said bowling coach Jay Young, who is retiring his coaching position. “They’re very cohesive, like a family. It’s an amazing thing to see, and an incredible thing to work with.”

The team took first by a narrow margin of 25 pins over the second-place team, Evergreen.

“We definitely put in a lot of hard work for this,” senior Jaylah Young said. “The last four years, personally. has always been about making it to state and winning a title. So, being able to accomplish that my senior year is unreal.”
