Varsity basketball teams advance to playoffs

The Wenatchee High School girls varsity basketball team beat Eisenhower 55-42 on Feb. 14. Junior Amira Chandler contributed 13 points. The girls finished their regular season after a game against Davis on Feb. 15, losing 85-61. The loss left the Panthers in second place in league with a record of 8-7. The girls will be hosted by Davis for the first round of State playoffs on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

In addition, the Wenatchee High School boys varsity basketball team won its last home game of the regular season on Feb. 14, beating Eisenhower 76-36. Sophomore Gavin Long was the leading scorer, netting 19 points. On Feb. 15, the boys played against Davis, losing 85-61. Despite the loss, the Panthers will host Eastmont in a playoff game on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m., with the winner going to the State tournament.
