Wenatchee boys varsity basketball falls to Mead and Shadle Falls

December 3, 2016

The Wenatchee High School varsity boys basketball team got off to a rough start this weekend, taking an at-home loss against Mead yesterday and losing 53-71 on the road against Shadle Park tonight.

In both games, Wenatchee suffered early score deficits and struggled to regain control of the game. In their game against Mead, the visiting Panthers pulled off a 10-0 run in the first quarters, forcing the hosting Panthers to play from behind. In the match against Shadle Park tonight, the Highlanders led 18-7. Despite strong second and third quarters, Wenatchee couldn’t recover further behind in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Darius Carlson was the lead Wenatchee scorer in the Shadle Park game, putting 13 points. Senior Matt Springer stood out in the game against Mead, scoring 16 points for the Panthers.
