Wenatchee FBLA rocks regionals

February 22, 2016

Wenatchee High School’s FBLA was presented with multiple awards at the FBLA Regional Conference on Feb. 17 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. All of the team’s participants will be attending the Washington State FBLA Conference in April.

The reaction of senior and FBLA president Israel Sixto was one of pure happiness when he heard the whole team got to go to State. Challenges along the way, such as the different categories and a broken projector, made the win hard-earned.

“It’s exciting to see the numbers of the students we take to State every year increase,” Sixto said. “I wasn’t sure if we would get to this point, but we did.”

FBLA adviser Susan Sears believed the team’s big win was due to the amounts of preparation the team put in as well as the inspiration it took in them to come so far. Working together as a team also played a huge role in FBLA’s success.

“They really were motivated, and it felt great to watch them win,” Sears said. “There was a lot of joy that day, and they’re looking forward to going to State in April.”
