Wenatchee tops Davis in first round of district playoffs

November 2, 2016

The Wenatchee High School varsity football squad defeated the Davis Pirates in three at the Wenatchee High School main gym.

The Panthers had some trouble getting started and fought hard to claim victory in a back-and-forth first set. Wenatchee gained more traction in the second set, pulling off large scoring runs and handily defeating Davis 25-7. The Pirates put up a good fight to try and take the third set, but the Panthers rallied together and shut them out of the contest.

Alli Hallberg had 20 kills to lead the Panthers and Devon Anderson had 15 digs for Wenatchee.

Wenatchee will take on Eisenhower in the second round of the Columbia Basin Big Nine district tournament on Saturday at Yakima.
