WSD board member announces resignation
Wenatchee School District school board member Jesús Hernández announced his resignation during the March 22 school board meeting. He has chosen to accept the CEO position at Family Health Centers in Okanogan County.
Hernández, who has served on the school board for 18 years, will live part-time in Okanogan County and travel to and from Wenatchee. A reception will be arranged for Hernández before April 26, after which his resignation will be effective. The school board will also be searching for Hernández’ replacement.
The letter of resignation Hernández read at the meeting thanked his colleagues, especially former board member Karen Norlin. He also acknowledged their accomplishments together, such as the creation of Wenatchee Learns, the Family Advocate Program, and upgrading WestSide High School.
“I just can’t stress enough how wonderful and rewarding serving on the school board has been for me,” Hernández said in a school district news release.
