12 candidates compete in ASB elections

ASB candidate selection for the 2014-15 school year has begun, with 12 candidates competing for the four cabinet positions.

Presidential candidates are juniors Daniel Arndt, Luke Carlson, Britt Parkhill and Madeline Steitz. Vice presidential candidates are juniors Angel Guzman, Josey Meats and Matt Murray. Secretary candidates are sophomore Sean Kelley, junior Analise Nelson, and sophomore Audrey Parrish. Treasurer candidates are junior Jackson Powell and sophomore Keyla Sanchez.

Candidates for president, vice president and secretary will compete in a primary election, before the final election. The primary election will eliminate one candidate from the vice president and secretary race, and two from the presidential race. Primaries will be held on April 8, and finals will be held on April 15.

According to ASB adviser Brent Grothe, ASB elections should be exciting. “I’m always optimistic with elections that someone who really wants to make an impact will come out of it,” Grothe said.
