Sophomore nominated to Massachusetts medical congress

Sophomore Galilea Vasquez has been nominated for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders by Dr. Robert Darling, Medical Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, to take place in Lowell, Mass., from June 25-27.

Students from across the country will gather to hear science winners share about medical research. Advice about medical school will be given from Ivy League and medical school deans. Patients who were considered to be “medical miracles”  will share personal stories and fellow teen medical science prodigies will offer a helping hand. New medical technology and medicine advances will be featured for the nominees to guide them through their future medical career.

Vasquez was nominated based on leadership potential, academic records, and her will to serve in the medical field. Vasquez participates in RAK Club, Robotics Club, and FBLA in her spare time to stay connected with the community. Her interest in the medical field is driven by her desire to help others.

“I believe saving lives is one of the best ways to help people,” Vasquez said.
