Welcome to the second annual Wenatchee Student Film Showcase.  The Showcase will take place at the Wenatchee High School Auditorium February 22, 2019.  If you are a K-12 student in North Central Washington and you would like to submit an entry, please see the guidelines and the film entry form below.  For additional inquiries, please contact us at [email protected]

Wenatchee Student Film Showcase – Entry Guidelines

 

 

To Enter A Student Film:

  1. Produce your film on any topic (it need not be environment, but it is preferred).
  2. Submit a film entry form.
  3. Deliver your film to Wenatchee High School, Re: Scott Tiedeman no later than January 31, 2020.

 

Entry Guidelines:

  1. Prizes will be awarded to the top entries in two categories:
    1. Documentary
    2. Fiction
  2. Films must be 15 minutes or under (not including credits).
  3. Films must include credits for all contributors.
  4. Films must be original and completely made by K-12 students.
  5. Films (both audio and visual) must be royalty free and not in violation of any copyright/trademark laws.
  6. Films must not violate any Wenatchee School District code of conduct.
  7. Films or portions of films may be used in future promotional materials of the Wenatchee Student Film Showcase.
  8. Films must be appropriate for general audiences (think PG, at most).

 

Scoring – films will scored by our judges based on the following criteria:

1 2 3 4 5       Acting/Interviews/Narration – effective in supporting the story

1 2 3 4 5       Lighting – subjects easy to see and lighting used to good effect

1 2 3 4 5       Sound/Music – audible, clear, and supportive of the story

1 2 3 4 5       Story/Content – easy to understand, appropriate, compelling

1 2 3 4 5      Cinematography – camera angles, picture clarity add to overall quality

1 2 3 4 5      Transitions/Effects/Editing are supportive of the story and seamless 

1 2 3 4 5      Creativity/Originality

1 2 3 4 5      Judge’s personal score – how compelling overall was the film?
