The Panthers were ranked sixth after playing the first two rounds, but finished the game strong by crushing the next four Baker games and placing fourth out of 20 teams, 13 of them varsity.

Senior Delaney Yant, the only returning member of last year’s State title team, bowled a 199 and 191, while sophomore Jessica Holbrook rolled a 128 and 146.

Wenatchee took its only losses against Eastmont, which won the invitational, followed by Hanford and Eisenhower.

“Eastmont is loaded and we’ll have to bowl our absolute best to beat them,” WHS head coach Jeff Leavitt said. “The younger girls will have to continue to improve, and they have been. I like what I’m seeing so far.”
