IGNITE orientation welcomes freshmen with open arms

August 29, 2016

The gym thundered with raw energy as IGNITE adviser Molly Butler turned the incoming class of 2020’s apathy into enthusiasm for the school year to come.

Today, incoming freshmen met with upperclassmen IGNITE leaders in order to learn about their new home, and become more comfortable with it. Butler led games that encouraged people to leave their usual group of friends behind and experience something new.

Students hugged, massaged, and yelled their way out of their summer stupor before they were led on a tour of the building by the IGNITE leaders.

“I’m excited to see new students,” Butler said. “I love seeing them come to high shchool and find something that they’re excited about. I’m excited to see my old students, and just be a part of the Wenatchee High School community. I feel like it’s a big honor.”
