Noyd leads WHS debate in State tournament

Senior Vivian Noyd led the Wenatchee High School speech and debate team by placing second place in the Extemporaneous event at the State tournament at the University of Puget Sound on Saturday.

Noyd placed seventh in Oratory, junior Sebastian Pasion placed 14 in Impromptu, sophomore Ethan Harris placed 11 in Expository, sophomores Cheyenne Mckee and Kenya Emerson placed 16 in Duo Interpretation.

“It was a successful year especially for the novices seeing how well they did, and being part of their development was so outstanding. Overall it’s been a great opportunity for me and I would definitely encourage people to try it,“ Harris said “I could’ve done better it was great being able to beat some of the kids that I’ve been seeing through the years.”
