In order to qualify for nationals one must place in the top two in an event. Noyd won first in Extemporaneous event and she will be competing in this event at nationals. “She will be the first four time attendee that I have ever had in 21 years,” Carlson said.

Carlson is very positive about Noyd participating at nationals. “With her going I think she has a great chance to break out into the elimination round,” Carlson said. “I’m hoping she gets there.

“I really would like to see her go all the way because it’s a high pressure environment and it’s the national stage, but it’s still just the same event she has been doing all year.”
