Panthers conclude season with second-place State finish

Panther swimmers claimed second as a team in State today and put swimmers on the podium in five events as they wrapped up their succesful.

Top placers include the 200-yard medley relay team of seniors Jessica Wierzbicki and Isabelle Dressel, freshman Rae Anne Dressel, and junior Kailie Wulf, which placed second. Isabelle placed second in the 50 freestyle, and Wierzbicki took third in the 100 butterfly. The 200 freestyle relay team of Isabelle, Wierzbicki, Wulf, and junior Jordan Hartley also placed second. Isabelle took second in the 100 breaststroke.

Wenatchee scored 232 points, only 11 behind first-place Skyline.

Dive coach Nicklas Peterson was very pleased with the dive season overall.

“The whole season I see as a success. All four of my girls did phenomenally,” Peteron said.
Peterson said that because of the very close finish to first place, the meet was, “a little emotional, a lot of exciting, but I think overall everyone’s happy.”

100 butterfly- Wierzbicki: second. Hartley: eighth. Wulf: 15th.
Modified 50 backstroke- Van Well: fourth.
100 freestyle- Rae Ann: 15th.
500 freestyle- VanHeyningen: eighth. Hadassah Lurbur: 15th.
200 freestyle relay- Isabelle, Hartley, Wulf, Wierzbicki: second.
100 backstroke- Wierzbicki: seventh. Wulf: 16th.
100 breaststroke- Isabelle: second. Bay: seventh. Rae Ann: 14th.
400 freestyle relay- VanHeyningen, Rae Ann, Hartley, Bay- seventh.
