Seattle Seahawks reps make special appearance in fall sports pep rally

Wenatchee High School Mariachi Program Director Ramon Rivera is emotional after receiving the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. The award recognizes the top Hispanic leaders around the nation and was presented by representatives from the Seattle Seahawks.

The fall sports pep rally at Wenatchee High School today had a little bit more excitement as representatives from the Seattle Seahawks presented Mariachi Program Director Ramon Rivera with the NFL’s Hispanic Heritage Award.

Seahawks’ Fan Development Assistant Director Armando Mejia presented the award with Fan Development Coordinator Thomas Buren, Fan Development Intern Carson Locke, and Sea Gals Mhkeeba and Brittany to a very surprised and emotional Rivera.

Also headlining the assembly included the Apple-Ettes, cheerleaders, new Athletic Director Jim Beeson, and an Orange Crush soda contest between five volleyball players. Whoever chugged the soda fastest was deemed the winner.

Look for a story early next week on Rivera’s award.
