Apple Leaf staffers have been busy over the summer preparing a new version of The Apple Leaf. Beginning in Sept., The Apple Leaf will be published as usual in print with a digital version online.

We have partnered with a company, School Newspapers Online, located in Minnesota. They will be in charge of supporting the site and keeping it functional. The Apple Leaf staff will manage the content and design of the website.

The Apple Leaf has taken another plunge into the digital world and now is part of Facebook and Twitter. Daniel Arndt, 11, will serve as the Social Media Editor.

This next step will give staffers a taste of “real-world journalism,” according to adviser Dave Riggs. The primary use of the website is breaking news situations and sports results, giving The Apple Leaf a sense of immediacy.

We will continue to publish our print version of the newspaper every three weeks, but readers can count on the website being updated during the week with news and other interesting topics.

As the year progresses, changes and enhancements will come to the website, too. To connect with The Apple Leaf, see the links below.
