The Wenatchee High School cheerleaders placed first in their division at the Moses Lake Cheer Challenge on Saturday, grabbing a State-qualifying score.

Head coach Dani Schafer-Cloke says the team did “really well. They improved their score by two or three points, which was enough to get qualified for State by score.”

The girls themselves are “so proud of themselves, and they should be. It’s the best performance they’ve had all year, and it just proved they were able to come together so well as a team, and achieve their goal of making it to state this year,” Schafer-Cloke says.

The team is looking to perform another clean routine at the State competition at the Xfinity Arena in Everett on Jan. 28.
