Wenatchee swim and dive team makes waves at Moses Lake pentathlon

The Wenatchee swim and dive team had a strong showing at the Moses Lake pentathlon on Thursday, with many swimmers placing in the top five.

Junior Aleah Bucknum and senior Alyssa Laney tied for first place in the 1-meter dive with 104.5 points. Sophomore Sophia Dillon placed third with a score of 87.5.  

In the 50 freestyle, senior Isabelle Dressel took first with a time of 24.94 seconds. Freshman Raeann Dressel took third with 26.44, and junior Kailie Wulf placed fourth with a time of 26.60.

Isabelle Dressel also won the 50 breaststroke with a time of 30.76, Raeann Dressel took second with 32.46 and senior Rebecca Bay placed third with a time of 34.41.

In the 50 backstroke, Wulf placed first with a time of 30.17 and junior Hannah Van Heyningen placed fifth with a time of 34.41.

Raeann Dressel and Isabelle Dressel took second and third with times of 28.25 and 28.75 respectively in the 50 butterfly.

Wenatchee relay teams took first and second in the 200 freestyle relay, Wulf, junior Jordan Hartley, senior Bay and Isabelle Dressel swimming a time of 1 minute, 45.87 seconds and Van Heyningen, freshman Abigail Wilt, sophomore Hadassah Lurbur, and Raeann Dressel swimming a time of 1:50.56.
