The varsity Apple-Ettes Dance Team brought home third place in Military Routine and sixth place in Pom Routine out of 16 different teams from a Moses Lake District Competition on March 12. This will be the first time in almost 10 years that the Dance Team has qualified for State.

Scoring high in both Military and Pom qualified the team to move onto the WIAA Dance/Drill State Competition held annually at the Yakima Sun Dome on Friday, March 25.

State competition has been a tradition for the Apple-Ette ever since their first appearance in 1958, according to Coach Lynsey Loudon. The Apple-Ettes have competed in many styles at State in the past, including Drill, Pom, Dance, Show and Military.

The qualifying teams at State compete for first, second, and third place, as well as receiving rankings of Superior, Excellent, Outstanding, or Good. WHS Apple-Ettes last placed first in 1973 under direction of Coach Marilyn Hauck, the Apple-Ettes founder.
