Three Apple Leaf staff members were honored at the National High School Journalism Convention in Los Angeles for their writing competition entries on Sunday.

Features editor Jordan Gonzalez received an Excellent rating for Editorial Writing and business manager Edan Patterson received an Excellent rating in the Commentary Writing category. Both are seniors. The Apple Leaf Editor-in-Chief junior Moses Lurbur received an honorable mention in Newswriting.

“I was honestly so excited when I found out I got an Excellent, especially my senior year,” Gonzalez said. “The entire experience was so much fun with a fantastic group of people and that was an incredible end to the trip.”
