Girls golf team scores undefeated season

The Wenatchee girls golf team went undefeated this season, winning seven league matches and qualifying six girls for the district playoff match on Monday, May 9 at Three Lakes Golf Course.

The team has been undefeated for four seasons in league play. Five WHS golfers qualified in the top 10 in the league, with senior Kadi Freund getting second place in the league. Senior Ali Brandt took fourth place, sophomore Taylor Takasugi took fifth place, junior Delaney Merrill took seventh place, and senior Courtney Merrill took 10th place. Maddie Peterson took 28th place in the district which qualifies her to the district tournament on Monday.  

“Our team goal this year for districts is to get all of the five players to go to State,” Takasugi said. “I had my best round this [season] was at Highlander [Golf Course]. I shot an 82, which was really good for me and I want to keep improving on my score.”
