The Wenatchee Valley girls lacrosse team finished its season May 6 with a tightly-contested 8-7 away loss to Ballard.

Despite the defeat, junior midfielder Kaisa Didtel was happy with her team’s performance. “We had trouble catching the ball, and with our transitions, but I think we played well,” said Didtel.

The team finished with a 3-9 overall record. Their most recent matches resulted a 13-7 loss to Roosevelt on May 4, a 20-5 loss to Snohomish on May 3, a 19-9 loss to Garfield on April 29, and an 11-2 win against the SW Titans on April 26.

The girls did not qualify for playoffs, but maintained a positive sentiment for the season. “We were a new team with a lot of underclassmen,” said junior Taylor Butcherite. “We grew as a team and learned to work better as a unit at the end of the season.”
